While waiting my 500 arrive, I was too free and begin to search some information about USS Japan Auto Auction, I wanna know more detail of this auction to be held and hopefully with you guys.

USS, is abbreviation of the name, "Used Car System Solution". It is a company that Conducting Auction (Auto Auction) of all the used cars in Japan. They conduct the auction by using communication technology such as satellite and Auction Screen. USS have deployed 16 Auction sites throughout Japan however the largest auction site is held in Tokyo on every Thursday where the cars for bid always exceeding 20 thousand units! Report shows there are more than 70% of used cars were traded through this Auction.

There are 16 sites of USS Auto Auction in Japan

Unlike other countries where any body can participating in Auction to bid their car. In Japan, only selected dealers or USS official member can participate in USS Auto Auction, passable level for a membership is very strict therefore UNLESS you are trusted socially and with good experience in the field of car business, or else it will be very difficult to pass the license investigation to become a USS member.

If you participate in USS Auto Auction, any Japanese used car you are looking for will be surely found out but how to find that car since the USS auction site is huge like a hyper market? Very easy, inside the bidding hall consist of few hundred desk, each desk have a monitor which allow you to find what model of the car you want, from there you able to get some basic info such as the unit code, picture, model, color, transmission, displacement, year, condition and mileage of the car.

The bidding hall is wide and neat

Each desk consists of a monitor

All vehicles are evaluated its condition by the grading system into Grades. They give indications of the condition.

  • 4.5 Vehicle is in excellent condition. No slight scratches or dents.
  • 4 Vehicle in good condition, few scratches/dents due to normal wear as you would get with any normal vehicle.
  • 3.5 Vehicle has a few scratches or dents visible. This grade is usually given to a vehicle in average condition.
  • 3 Various scratches or dents, some paint blemishes.
  • 2 Better than rough condition, modified cars, sometimes cannot pass regular test (depending on country of import)
  • 1 Rough condition
  • R A vehicle which has been in an accident where some parts have been repaired or replaced.
  • RA Vehicle has been in MINOR accident. It has been repaired to an acceptable standard.
  • RA2 Accident-repaired (not a good repair)
  • RA3 Accident-repaired, but in good condition now.
  • RA3.5 Accident-repaired, but in excellent condition now
  • *** Accident damaged vehicle however has not been repaired. Vehicle may have engine problems.
By the way, USS Technician will inspect all the cars, no matter the car is being modified or some part is missing, they will write an Inspection report, also known as "Auction sheet". If you feel that you are not confidence on those Auction sheet, you can have a look of the real car which place on a wide few storey parking lot. 0_0 Unit code from the monitor can show you where the car is placed. Anyway it is difficult, try to imagine in rainy day or under hot sun, to search 1 car among thousand unit of cars...... After found the car you looking for, you can open the door or bonnet to inspect since all the show car there is unlock(key is ready at there and all bonnet is open), this is to easy for any car agent to view the car by himself.

This is so call "Auction Sheet"

All this wrote by USS Technician

0_0 is not easy to find a car....

OK, finish inspection and decide to get this car? Yup, is the time to bid! All the bidding process is run by the communication TV screen. When the car is place on huge TV screen for bid, car agent just use the button prepared to bid, easy and fast. Normally each car just take 20 second to bid.
After success bid, the car will be check again, japan car agent will take some photo and send this back to car dealer of other country via email. At the same time, a reservation of shipment will be made to send this car to the car dealer.

Success bid cars are ready for shipping

Hope this post can make you guys have more pictures about how's the Auction is held on Japan. Maybe many of us think that work as a car agent in USS auction is easy, but for them is difficult since the Auction site is their battlefield!

World War Of GT(GT3 and GTR)

The words war between Porsche and Nissan continues with the German power house again claiming bollocks on the GT-R’s recent timing(7:27) at the ‘Ring. Porsche’s new 2010 GT3 is undoubtedly hardcore with naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six churning out an ultra high-revving 435hp and its track-tuned chassis allows it to dance with the world’s most nimble supercars.
The new GT3 has been timed at an unofficial 7:40 with Porsche driving ace Walter Rohrl piloting the car for the sprightly lap. However, GT3 still can't beat the 638hp Corvette ZR1(7:26) but it’s a very impressive time nonetheless considering Rohrl posted a 7:45 in a borrowed ultra-hardcore Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
That still doesn’t come close to Nissan’s famed 7:27 though and the Japanese car-makers are probably not impressed at the GT3’s timing. But ze Germans are still not letting up, telling Motor Trend that the twin-turbo Nissan is only good for a time of 7:56 in stock US form. That’s a lot of difference, 30 seconds slower than reports from Nissan can cause some serious credibility damage.
Well the saga will continue unless it is settled by a neutral figure once and for all. Anyone who agrees with Schumacher being handed the keys to both this cars to time himself at the ‘Ring and to settle this once and for all say aye.

Process Of Getting My S204

*7 April 2009*
Afternoon when I having my lunch, Calvin call me that Thursday Japan USS Auto Auction got 2 units of S204 available, both are gray color, low mileage and in good condition. He ask me to view this cars via the address he gave. After I view both of it, I decided and ask Calvin help me bid the one with lower mileage and 5 stars condition!

*9 April 2009, Thursday(Auction day)*
The whole morning I can't wait for the result, I call Calvin and he told me my car will start to bid at 5:00Pm (6:10Pm at Japan), OMG still have to wait some more. By the way, he told me that the bid of another S204(with 4.5 stars condition) is just over and the result is NO PEOPLE BID! OMG, seems all the car agent is aiming the 5 Stars condition S204.

Around 5:10Pm, I receive a bad news from Calvin, we fail to bid that S204. So no choice, I have to wait for the next week auction day. From the day start, I search the Auction car list every night until....

Fail to bid this (7k mileage, 5 stars condition)

Fog light S204 (29k mileage, 4.5 stars condition)

*13 April 2009*
I found the previous S204(4.5 Stars condition) is in the auction list, this time no choice I have to bid it for sure. Calvin check all the detail and told me this car will start biding at Thursday morning 9:30am(10:40am at Japan).

*16 April 2009, Thursday(Auction day)*
I'm still in my dreamland, suddenly hear my incoming ring tone. "Morning Ah Jeff~ Your car is success bid already, so do you confirm what number to put on your plate?" I still can't believe it is real. Anyway, I told him the number that i want and immediately let my brother and parents knew, guess what number?? Lol~
Although this car is come along with pair of fog light, but I decided to remove and cover it back to make it look more stock! Calvin willing to help me Gao Dim~ Thanks Calvin! I love you!!

This is the one i success to bid from auction~

*22 April 2009*
Received call from Calvin, is good new! He told me my S204 series number is 500/600!! What a nice number! By the way, he bought all the fog light cover and ready to fix once my car arrive here! Thanks god to let me get such a nice series number!

GTR Puts Porsche To Shame Again

Nissan GT-R, people always get skeptical about its capabilities. Anyway, the Nissan clearly understanding this principle, held almost nothing back in building their latest sport scar. Remember its astonishing 7m 29s run around the ‘Ring, which beat out the Porsche 911 GT2 by several seconds. Porsche tried to defend their honor by calling “shenanigans,” which Nissan defended by releasing video of the run and allowing anybody to inspect the car used for excess tuning or non-stock parts.

Nissan decided to put their slightly updated 2010MY GT-R to the test. This latest model provide five more horsepower to the table for 485hp plus modified launch control, retuned gearbox, slightly larger fuel tank, better fuel economy, retuned suspension, and sticky tires. Before its run on the Nurburgring, they also added the optionally available Rays forged alloys.

With former F1 stand-in driver Toshio Suzuki behind the wheel, the 2010 GT-R posted a time of 7 minutes 27.56 seconds, beating last year’s model by 1.5 seconds, and increasing its dominance over the 911 GT2. Yeah!!!
Despite the time, the manufacturer claimed that “although dry, the track surface grip was impaired by dust and sand.”(win already still so humble man ^_^) So, Nissan wants another shot. They’re aiming for the time GM posted on their 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. Nissan will take the GT-R back to circuit in the hopes of beating the ‘Vette’s time of 7 minutes 26.4 seconds.

*GTR, I personal truly wish you all the best! Gambateh~*
