I feel happy and sad about this debut, the sad thing is because Lancer Evolution this time is became more evil than Subaru Impreza(including my S204); however I'm happy because this "Evilution" only available in UK ^_^
1st at all, I would like to introduce this Evil, its name is Lancer Evolution X FQ-400, had start on sale in UK at June 2009 for £49,999. No doubt, as a Impreza owner will 100% feel sad to accept this debut but we must admit, this time Mitsubishi's new creation is an extremely powerful and fast vehicle, it consist a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, enable to produce 403bhp at 6500rpm, 387lb/ft of torque at 3500rpm, 0-100km/hr only takes 3.8seconds while the sport saloon's top speed is electronically limited to 255 km/h!! WTF lucky this monster not available in Malaysia(Thanks god). Compare to standard Evo engine, few things has been upgraded, like high flow fuel injectors, a new low fiction bearings turbocharged, high temperature turbine and strengthened thrust, a better intercooler, new exhaust system and remapping of ECU.
This monster 0-100km/hr only take 3.8seconds!
Besides that, Mitsubishi tweaked the Evo X's chassis, including widen track and lowered suspension featuring with Eibach springs and Bilstein shock absorber plus new lightweight 18-inch nine spoke alloy wheels with Toyo Proxes R1R tires. Not only that, it also equipped with a revised braking system that uses aerospace grade aluminum alloys and floating sealed discs grabbed by high performance pads.
Still prefer my S204's BBS rim...
Anyway, there are few aspect remain the same as standard Evo X like S-AWC 4WD system with Active Stability Control and Active Centre Diffential, Active Yaw Control and Sport ABS.
Ok, now we look at the exterior. FQ-400 have a new styling kit which look more aggressive comprises of a heavily vented bonnet, a new lightweight composite front bumper featuring CF elements on its leading edges, a rear wing incorporating a gurney strip and a roof-mounted "Vortex Generator", composite side skirts, CF diffuser plus additional lighting and HID lights.
Body kit looks more aggressive than standard EVO X
This bonnet is designed for better ventilation
Vortex Generator(roof shark fin) & CF rear diffuser
For the interior, we can see the Recaro bucket seat with "Evoluion X" word on the upper part of the seat, a FQ-400 liveried handbrake handle and CF gear knob. Standard equipment including Bluetooth hands-free telephone connection, a CD-tuner with 30G hard drive, DVD satellite navigation and a privacy glass plus remote central locking, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers.
The interior has so much improved compare to Evo9
Another shot of interior(turn on engine)
Wow~ I like it I like it!!!
Another things that I like is this hand brake
As a result, I can only say, FQ-400 is a amazing car! Many people like to compare Evo and Impreza, for me is the same, I choose Impreza S204 because I compare both of them, S204 is the best among 1st to 9th Generation of Evo and Impreza. But until now, I'll change it to Evo X FQ-400 is the best among 1st to 10th Generation of Evo and Impreza!! Feel jealous, but I have to accept the fact and respect the effort of the FQ-400's engineer to build up such a amazing car.
FQ-400 only available at UK, we can see cannot touch ^_^
